Foundation day celebrated with enthusiasm at Dharampeth Polytechnic
The Foundation Day of Dharampeth Education Society was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Dharampeth Polytechnic on 3rd August. On August 3, 1929, Bhikaji Ramchandra Phatak alias Appasaheb Phatak, who was inspired by the thoughts of Lokmanya Tilak and Veer Savarkar, a very hardworking patriot of Dharampeth area, laid the foundation of Dharampeth Education Society with the thought of raising the level of education in the society and achieving all-round Indian education.
A bust of Bhikaji alias Appasaheb Phatak was unveiled.
Mr. Suresh Dev, member of Dharampeth Education Society, presided over the program while Mrs. Sana Pandit, social worker and counselor was present as the chief guest of the program. Mayuresh Gokhale introduced the program.
Mr. Suresh Dev, Chairman of the Local Management Committee of Dharampeth Polytechnic appealed to the students to take advantage of the opportunities that the institution has made available to the students through hard work and to be aware that the society owes them to them.
Mrs. Sana Pandit, the chief guest of the original guidance program, said, “Avoid the artificiality that has come into our lives due to the influence of the West, search for the self, enjoy the beauty of creation, notice the promising aspects that we have and create our own code of conduct before entering the society.” The program was guided by Principal Mita Fadnavis. Sanstha Geet was presented on this occasion. Ms. Sakshi Harsulkar thanked the dignitaries and the attendees. The program was moderated by Vinay Modak. All the teachers and non-teaching staff and students attended the program. The program concluded with Snehal Khandagale’s Pasayadan singing.
